Tomorrow is the big HACHE Picnic. Show up to meet us, and to sign up and to get more information. I am bringing Co-op tags so it will be easy to recognize those in the co-op.
Due to some scheduling conflicts, our co-op wasn't able to fit a trip to Seiben in. So the Mom's Club, a support group for at home parents that Beth is a big part of, allowed members of the Co-op to tag along. We got to see a multitude of lambs, some of them having just been born! We also saw Peacocks, and hens, and a tiny baby rabbit warming himself in the sun, quite close. Here are a few pictures of the kids enjoying themselves.
The Enrichment Co-op has the distinct honor of planning the majority of the summer field trips for HACHE this year. This is partially because of one of our core members being involved in all that is good. We hope that coming to our various trips through the summer will allow you to get to know us, and what we are about. We plan to pick a good blend of fun and education. Today's trip will be to the Montana Historical Society. Despite the impression the name gives you, I hear that this is a really neat place for kids (& Adults) of all ages to explore many different themes. Get a guided tour or just explore with your child. It's free for schools, and very reasonable for individuals. So plan a trip this summer. Visit their website for details, and check out their current exhibits here.
After we get back, I will try to remember to tell you all about our visit! Something to look forward to. At the small schools track me a couple of weeks ago, someone suggested that the Co-op should have T-shirts that match next year. I love that idea. It would be fun to have them for the other events, like the HACHE picnic, the spelling bee, and the science fair. How cool would that be?
Today we are getting the first edition of the Helena Homeschool Enrichment Co-op. I also have finalized the sign up schedule. I will be having our core families sign up first so that we can make sure that each class has at least one experienced member in it. Then I will start looking for additional sign ups. The more people who join, the more we can offer and the lighter the work load for everyone can be. To see an example of what we hope to become, go to the resources page. Let's make this next year the best Co-op year Helena has ever seen.
Today I am making a website. Now the Co-op is truly LEGIT. I hope you are all excited as I am!
